The evolution of male grooming

Richard Marshall, founder of Pall Mall barbers, recalls a time when barbering and male grooming was a lot less prevalent than today. He said: “When I started off in the business, the trend for beards and beard grooming was very niche. Now, men everywhere are investing in treatments and want to enter into this new world of self-care.”

Talking to The Salon Magazine*, Marshall also advised that the addition of male services could increase revenue for businesses: “Much like the female equivalent of a women’s cut and colour, a male’s haircut and shave is a great way to combine services for added revenue.”
