Winter truly has come this week, with snow falling outside and fairy lights going up across the country, and to celebrate the holiday season we’ve once again teamed up with nail artist extraordinaire Jen McColl. Jen has created some gorgeous looks that capture the spirit of the festive period and here is a step-by-step guide on how you can achieve each one for your clients, together with the products you’ll need, all available here at Ellisons.
Christmas bows
Eye catching glitter nails following a Christmas theme to add that extra festive feel.
Technique (using OPI® lacquer range)
1. Prep your nails with OPI’s natural nail base coat
2. Next add two coats of OPI I’m Really an Actress on all fingers except from the ring finger, paint this one using Naughty or Ice
3. Using the detailer brush S2 by Lecenté draw shapes using Movie Buff
4. Complete with OPI Rapidry top coat and cuticle oil

Starry snowflake
Add a touch of sparkle to your client’s nails with a crystal for a cool winter look.
Technique (using OPI® lacquer range)
1. Prep nails with the OPI natural base coat
2. Add two coats of Angels Flight to Starry Nights
3. Using the dotting tool add four star points in Alpine Snow
4. Use the Lecenté detailer brush S2 add the shape of the snowflake
3. Cover the dotting tool with a small piece of Blu Tack® (or similar) makes it easy to pick up the crystals. Please note: Blu Tack® is not sold by Ellisons
4. Add a rhinestone to the centre of the flake for that extra sparkle
5. Finish off with a glossy top coat of the OPI Rapidry top coat
6. Don’t forget your cuticle oil

Christmas tree
Add some festive cheer to your nail art with bejewelled Christmas trees on every finger.
Technique (using OPI® lacquer range)
1. Prep nails with the OPI natural base coat
2. Add two coats of Dulce de Leche
3. Paint on the Christmas tree shape using Rated Pea-G
4. Using the Lecenté D2 brush add the trunk using Cliffside Karaoke and the pot using I’m Really an Actress and star
5. Once the tree is dry add highlights in Pear-adise Cove and branches Suzi Talks with Her Hands
6. Cover the dotting tool with a small piece of Blu Tack® (or similar) makes it easy to pick up the rhinestones. Please note: Blu Tack® is not sold by Ellisons
7. Add the rhinestones to the tree
8. Finish off with a glossy top coat of the OPI Rapidry top coat and cuticle oil
