Get ready for Birmingham 2022

Everyone at Ellisons is very excited for this summer of sport with the 2022 Commonwealth Games just down the road in Birmingham, with many established and up and coming stars looking to cement their names in the nation’s heart.

England

Show your support for Team England with this stunning design focussed on the cross of St George accompanied by a gorgeous English rose on the ring finger.

Create the look:

Technique (using OPI® lacquer range)

1. Prep nails with the OPI natural base coat.

2. Add two coats of Alpine White.

3. To create the cross paint four tram lines using the detailer brush in S2 by Lecenté on three fingers and thumb leaving ring finger clear.

4. Fill in the lines using the Big Apple Red leaving white in the middle of the finger.

5. Using the detailer brush draw a red rose with green stem on the ring finger.

6. Finish off with a glossy top coat of the Rapidry top coat.

7. Don’t forget your cuticle oil.

Northern Ireland

Represent the athletes of Northern Ireland with this gorgeous take on the flag of Ulster, with a four leafed clover on the ring finger to bring some extra luck for the boys and girls in green.

Create the look for the Northern Ireland flag nails

Technique (using OPI® lacquer range)

1. Prep nails with the OPI natural base coat.

2. Add two coats of Alpine White.

3. To create the cross paint four tram lines using the detailer brush in S2 by Lecenté on three fingers and thumb leaving ring finger clear.

4. Fill in the lines using the Big Apple Red leaving white in the middle of the finger.

5. Using the detailer brush in green draw a four leafed clover on the ring finger.

6. Add highlights to the four-leaf clover using Alpine White.

6. Finish off with a glossy top coat of the Rapidry top coat.

7. Don’t forget your cuticle oil.

Scotland

Get behind the athletes from bonnie Scotland with some gorgeous nail art focussing on the iconic blue of the cross of St Andrew and the thistle on the ring finger.

Create the look for Scottish flag nails

Technique (using OPI® lacquer range)

1. Prep nails with the OPI natural base coat.

2. Add two coats of Duomo Days, Isola Nights on all fingers apart from the ring finger this has two coats of Alpine White.

3. Paint two lines to form a cross using Alpine White using the detailer brush on three fingers and thumb.

4. Fill between the lines using Alpine White to create a cross.

5. Using a dotting tool and detailer brush draw a Thistle using the remaining colours on the ring finger.

6. Finish off with a glossy top coat of the Rapidry top coat.

7. Don’t forget your cuticle oil.

Create the look for Welsh flag nails

Technique (using OPI® lacquer range)

1. Prep nails with the OPI natural base coat.

2. Add two coats of Alpine White.

3. Using a small piece of sponge paint on several strokes of Alpine White and My Studio’s on Spring, dab the sponge onto the fingers, wiping excess lacquer of the finger using remover.

3. Using detail brush with Alpine White paint a dragon shape onto all the fingers.

4. Fill in the shape using Big Apple Red.

5. Finish off with a glossy top coat of the Rapidry top coat.

6. Don’t forget your cuticle oil.
