How to: marbled pastel nails
Marble nails have been on trend for a couple of years now, and pastel colours are all the rage right now, so we wanted to help you create this nail look with a simple step by step guide. Enjoy, and let us know how you get on in the comments below or on our social media.
Step 1
Remove the shine with a hand file or buffing block – be careful not to damage the nail bed. Remove the dust from the hand and the nail station. Apply bonder (We use the Gellux fast bond or IBD dehydrate 14ml) for better adhesion of the gel polish and to prevent lifting
Step 2
Apply your base coat, cure in LED lamp for 30 seconds. Apply two layers of your preferred colour (depending on how rich the colour is, you may need a third layer) – cure after each layer in LED lamp. We have used the Lecente Cotton Candy pastel 12ml.

Step 3:
The next layer needs to be wet (not cured) to allow the colours to blend and create that marble effect With a fine brush use a pale colour to make random lines, changing the thickness. As our pale colour we went for the OPI Snow Day in LA.
Step 5:
Once you are happy with the design, apply a topcoat and cure in a LED lamp. Wipe off the tacky inhibition layer with polish remover or d.sperse. Finally, apply some cuticle oil and admire your work.
Step 4:
Blend with the colour using short strokes. The brush we like to use is the Lecente detailer brush or The Edge nail art brush. Once you are happy with your marble look, cure this in the LED lamp.
